Giovanni Antonio Canal, known as Canaletto, was created in Venice, the boy of your theatrical arena painter. He was very important, famed for his specifically depicted and evocative views of the location (vedute). Canaletto's early on pictures for local customers are his most completed: these carefully designed, specific, and atmospheric studies include 'The Stonemason's Lawn'. He discovered that providing formulaic paintings for visitors was very rewarding. These, still very skilled works, were made by him often in cooperation with an organised workshop. They often record the luxurious Venetian general population ceremonies, such as 'Regatta on the Grand Canal'.
